Hi, I’m Kim, lover of art, design, nature, laughing, and coffee.
I explore emotional texture through multiple tactile mediums, including oils, acrylics and fabric. My artistic intention is that through a more impressionistic or abstract style, space is created for you to evoke your own imagination and emotions.
Being primarily self taught has given me the ability to take my strong intuitive vision and use it to my advantage. This enables me to dissect a subject into shapes and then create a painting from this unique and creative perspective. After starting with watercolor and then gouache, I was drawn to work on larger canvases and now primarily work in oils. According to my mentors, I take on subjects that would drive others crazy. My composition and use of color and value are my strengths.
My work is primarily inspired by nature, my family, geometric and minimalistic design and my many travels. I’m a member of the Associated Artist of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Society of Artists and the McMurray Art League.
I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and have two grown children and three beautiful granddaughters, whom I love to spoil and are my newly appointed gurus.
When I'm not in my creative space, I also enjoy hiking, biking, yoga and Tai Chi.
I look forward to meeting you!
Love, Kim
